In Polish, Mostek means “little bridge”
Hi, I’m Maria Mostek,
she/her/hers
(And no, I’m not just going to nod and ask how that makes you feel.)
People often think it’s only for "crisis mode" or that it involves sitting in a stuffy office with a stranger who writes secret notes about your childhood.
I’m here to change that.
I’m a therapist who believes that mental wellness is less about "fixing what’s broken" and more about mental wellbeing. It’s for the people who are doing a lot, carrying a lot, and realize they’d like to actually enjoy the life they’ve built.
My Approach: Professional, Not Stuffy
I bring a high level of clinical competence to the table, but I leave the clinical coldness at the door. I’m a real person—which means I’m relatable, I have a sense of humor, and I’m not afraid to call it like I see it.
We might be walking through a park in Milwaukee or chatting in a session, but the goal is always the same: Getting you back to feeling like yourself.
If you’re perpetually stuck at a crossroads or exhausted by overthinking, you’re my favorite kind of client. We’ll step beyond the traditional pros-and-cons lists, cut through the noise, and finally help you to take action.
If you’re usually the one everyone else leans on, this is the one space where you don’t have to have it all together.
Whether we’re doing "walk-and-talk" therapy or meeting more traditionally, we’re going to keep things moving forward.
A few other fun facts. I was a college athlete - running XC and track. I grew up in Madison, WI, but have lived in Milwaukee for almost 10 years & I’m a Marquette University Alumnus. I have two cats and love all sorts of creatures. I’ve been sober since 2021. I enjoy mountain biking, running, bouldering, hiking, and snowshoeing.
I’m here to help you navigate the messy parts of life with a bit of grace and a lot of practical strategy. You can be yourself here—humor, sarcasm, frustration, tears, and all.
